The vineyard is situated in a wonderful perfect environment and the cultivation is bio-dynamic (even if this is not stated on the label) with wide passages of other plants that attract insects and bugs. The wine is seductive now, but can be without a problem stored 15 years if the bottle is kept cool and dark.

SEÑA’S FIRST VERTICAL TOUR IN ASIA ACHIEVES HISTORICAL RESULTS

(Hong Kong, 28th October, 2011) – IN THE FIRST EVER VERTICAL TASTING OF SEÑA, HONG KONG, TAIPEI AND SEOUL PALATES PLACED THIS ICONIC WINE FROM CHILE AS THEIR FAVOURITE WINE AGAINST THE FIRST GROWTHS OF BORDEAUX.

In a milestone moment for Seña as well as for other iconic Chilean wine producers, the blind tasting results from Hong Kong, Taipei and Seoul placed Seña at the top of most people’s favourite wines. At the first stop in Seña’s First Vertical Tasting Tour in Hong Kong on the 28th of October, forty local wine professional were very surprised when different vintages of Seña scooped all top five spots.

18th OCTOBER 2011. CHILE’S ICON WINE SEÑA TAKES 1st AND 2nd POSITIONS IN BLIND TASTING IN SANTIAGO WITH MW PROFESSIONALS

THE FINAL RESULT FOR THE TOP 5 WINES WAS AS FOLLOWS:

1. SEÑA 1997, VALLE DE ACONCAGUA
2. SEÑA 1995,VALLE DE ACONCAGUA
3. CHÂTEAU LATOUR 1988, BORDEAUX
4. CHÂTEAU HAUT-BRION 2000, BORDEAUX
5. SEÑA 2008, VALLE DE ACONCAGUA

Masters of Wine from around the world, including wine educators, journalists and wine buyers, converged in Chile for a 10-day tour and assessment of Chile’s developments as a world-class appellation. On Tuesday 18th October they visited Viña Errázuriz to participate in the “Chilean Wine Ageing Potential Challenge”. The purpose of this event was to allow the opportunity for the Masters of Wine to evaluate the world-class status and ageing potential of Chilean icon wines tasted blind alongside wines acknowledged as being amongst the very best Grand Crus of Bordeaux, France.
